The Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino is committed to sustainabile practices, actively contributing to reducing its consumption of natural resources as well as taking action towards climate change, reducing waste on Aruba.
As part of Hilton’s annual volunteer week “Travel with purpose,” the Blue Energy Committee participated in a beach cleanup on the island’s southeast coast in an area called Rincon beach, an area that collects driftwood among other wastes, including microplastics. The team collected over 20 garbage bags filled with waste, making the beach much cleaner than before.
Travel with Purpose is Hilton’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy to drive responsible travel and tourism globally. Through Travel with Purpose, Hilton seeks to create a positive environmental and social impact across operations, supply chains, and communities.
The beach cleanup included a group of 30, including Hilton Aruba Team Members and De Palm Tours personnel, Hospitality & Tourism students from the University of Aruba, faculty members, and exchange students from Belgium and Germany.
The Blue Energy committee would like to thank all volunteers for their time, effort & support towards this initiative to help maintain our One Happy Island’s beaches clean!
