On November 1, 2022, Post Aruba N.V. issued a new stamp series. This stamp series is called ‘Landscapes of Aruba’ and was designed by Mr. Elvis Tromp.
Aruba is, although small, rich in different types of landscapes. The landscape is largely desert like, because the climate is very dry all year round. In the south, the landscape is quite flat with miles of white beaches and the sea is relatively calm there.
The northern part is more hilly and the sea is rougher there. This turbulent sea on the north coast has ensured the formation of several natural bridges.
Very striking in the landscape of Aruba are the suddenness of giant boulders, originating from volcanic activities. Known are the stone formations at Ayo and Casibari.
The Hooiberg immediately stands out in the flatter part of Aruba. From the top you can have a beautiful view over the island.
The Lighthouse in California (Hudishibana) stands imposingly in the middle of a beautiful landscape bordered by dunes on one side and the turquoise blue sea on the other.
Through the North-East wind, the trees in particular the Watapana and Fofoti are fused to the southwest. These trees that grow with the wind direction are very popular and are often used as promotional material for Aruba. The aloe plant and the cactus provide a unique and spectacular unit.
This stamp series and First Day Cover envelope are available at all post offices, namely in Oranjestad and San Nicolas and via the web page postaruba.com/stampshop
