ORANJESTAD – On March 3, 2023, JUMP18 held its closing ceremony for another successful cycle.

JUMP18 is a multidisciplinary obesity management program for children affiliated with the Horacio Oduber. The program started on November 18, 2021, to make a difference, inspire and motivate children to improve their health and well-being.

JUMP18 aligns with the Ministry of Health’s policy of prevention in healthcare. The national prevention plan is the first created in Aruba for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and approved by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

JUMP18 creates new opportunities for everyone involved in the program like the parents, the professionals, and especially the children. One of the goals of JUMP18 is to help parents and their children live a healthier life through education and challenging their limited perceptions.

Minister Dangui Oduber salutes the entire JUMP18 team under the leadership of Dr. Jamiu Busari, co-founder and senior researcher of JUMP18. The Minister also expressed gratitude to the sponsors of JUMP18 who have contributed with funds or products to make this program possible. A special thanks go to the Horacio Oduber Hospital for their supervision from start to finish and for helping when possible.

Thanks for making JUMP18 a success and changing the lives of our children.
