Wednesday morning in a festive atmosphere at the China Club, the Foundation for Mental Disabilities of Aruba (Stichting voor Verstandelijk Gehandicapten Aruba, SVGA) celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities together with minister of Education and Sport, Mr. Endy Croes.
This year’s theme was Together in the World. Clients of Cas Blenchi, Pasadia Bibito Pin, Centro Man na Obra, Scol Dun’un Man, Pasadia Briyo di Solo and Cas Sjabururi prepared a beautiful show where each represented a country through a show of dance and music.
During the pleasant morning, substitute director of SVGA, Mrs. Elvira Arias-Tromp gave a speech, as did the minister of Education and Sport. The minister made an emphasis on inclusion, giving opportunities to each person with disabilities to develop themselves and find their own place in our community. Mr. Croes thanked the commission that organized the event for the clients, and emphasized that SVGA can count on the support of the Wever-Croes Cabinet and particularly his ministries.
Finalizing, Croes congratulated the clients, who punt on an excellent performance, and expressed his thankfulness to all teachers and leaders working with love and passion. “Let us celebrate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities and let us give support, love and appreciation to our people with diasabilities.”
