ORANJESTAD – President and CEO of AHATA, Tisa LaSorte proudly announced to members of the Aruba Hotel and Industry Association that in 2023, they are introducing the AHATA Impact Award. The goal of this award program is to give recognition to the efforts of responsible companies, members of AHATA, that are investing in and improving our community.

There will be awards separated in four key sustainability pillars:

Charity (financial donations or volunteering);
Cultural promotion;

Protection of our environment;

Contribution to a high quality of life for employees.

AHATA collaborated with five representatives of well-respected organizations in Aruba to develop the requirements for the awards and the criteria for evaluation. The same five people will serve as a judge team to evaluate the applications and choose four winners.

The panel of judges will be:

Daniel Tecklenborg, Director of CEDE Aruba;

Franciele Laclé; Sustainable Development Consultant;

Ray-Ann Hernandez, Director of UNOCA;

Jan Noordzij, manager of Advance Human Resources Services;

Rosabelle Illes, PHD, psychologist and assistant professor at the University of Aruba.

During a special event in June the four winners of the AHATA Impact Award 2023 will be chosen.

With this new award program, AHATA is providing support to sustainable enterprises and hopes to inspire more businesses to invest in the sustainability pillars which ensure a good future for our island.
