As neighbors near Arikok National Park, the residents of Bringamosa had the privilege of being among the first to see the Lora flying freely as it began to gain confidence and explore protected natural areas. The informative evening was presented by Research & Conservation Manager Giancarlo ‘Gian’ Nunes and Terrestrial Biodiversity Conservation Ranger Roger Solagnier, who shared valuable information and a collective commitment to preserving the Lora.

They shared the incredible journey of the Lora, from its unexpected arrival to its reintroduction into Aruba’s nature after being extinct for over 70 years. Residents also learned how to behave when they see or hear the Lora and were educated on continuous plans to improve the Lora’s habitat. As a token of appreciation, ACF gifted various fruit trees to the community to plant in their gardens, creating more food sources for the Lora and other species.

Nature knows no borders; that is why together, we are the voice of nature.
