The Aruba Monuments Fund Foundation aims to bring the entire community together to explore the rich history and beautiful architecture of the island. On September 15th, the people of Aruba will have the opportunity to visit and enter 13 monuments and historic buildings in the Oranjestad area.

This special day will offer an opportunity to visit and learn about some of Aruba’s most valuable monuments and historic sites, all of which will be open to the public for free.

For the first time, the Aruba Monuments Fund Foundation is organizing Open Monuments Day in collaboration with the Netherlands Monuments Foundation, which is responsible for Open Monuments Day in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, this event is celebrated over three days, but in Aruba, it will take place on Sunday, September 15th.

The public can register at the Casita Geel monument, where they will begin their tour of Oranjestad, visiting different monuments, participating in activities for both adults and children, and having the chance to win various prizes such as weekend stays, travel vouchers, sunset sails, dinners, and much more.

From 10 AM to 3 PM, the monuments will be open to the public, and from 3 PM to 5 PM, there will be a closing event with prize presentations for those who participated in the different activities, accompanied by music from the Tsunami band.

All information will be available online via the website and app of Open Monuments Day, and there will also be information available at the different buildings.

You can enjoy dance and music, workshops and activities for children, crafts and typical Aruban products for sale, Instameets, photography competitions for the “Lang Leven het Erfgoed” project, exclusive tours, and much more.

For these reasons, the Aruba Monuments Fund Foundation invites the community of Aruba to bring friends and family, to discover history, or simply enjoy a different kind of day.
