During the Census 2020, a total of 22.830 children between the ages 0 and 17 were registered, of which 51 % were boys.
In comparison with the Census 2010, the number of children 17 years and younger has seen a decline of 11%.

Most of these children live with a married couple with children, a total of 44%. 19% lived with a non-married couple with children, 30% lived with a single mother, 3% lived with a single father, and 3% lived alone.
In 2020, 81% of homes had at least 1 child or teenager between 0-17 years living in a house, while 16% lived in an apartment, and 3% lived in another kind of home. In 76% of the homes with children, the parents owned the house.

Census2020 indicates that 24% of the young age group lives in Oranjestad East and West, followed by Noord and Tanki Leendert with 23%. However, 23% of the youth live in Paradera and Santa Cruz, followed by Noord, Tanki Leendert, and Savaneta where 22% of the residents were between the ages 0 and 17.
87,5% of the group of 0 to 17 years of age are going to a child daycare, school, or higher education. The majority of 51,2% were attending an elementary school. Children within the mandatory education age group that were not attending a school were primarily due to a physical or mental health issue.
As of October 2020, 98% of the children in the age group of 0-17 years were in good health, 2% had health issues, and 1,6% had one or more limitations.
