In these difficult times we would like to reach out to our friends abroad who were supposed to spend their tropical vacation on Aruba or who had to break up their vacation due to the COVID-19 situation. Aruba Today invites you to send us your picture and words expressing your memory of our island or your dream vacation for the future.

Send us your picture(s) together with completing the sentence: Aruba to me is …….. (Email: news@arubatoday.com). Please do note: By submitting photos, text or any other materials, you give permission to The Aruba Today newspaper, Caribbean Speed Printers and any of its affiliated companies to use said materials, as well as names, likeness, etc. for promotional purposes without compensation.

Today we share a wonderful message from Bryan Meccariello. He reaches out to us about a fundraising event:

“Bon dia.  I’ve been attending the Facebook live “Friday Nights with Frank” weekly fundraising event for Aruba’s seniors presented by Fred de Jong (Aruba Sinatra Shows Entertainment) for the past several weeks.  I’m not sure if this fundraising event is publicly known by his fellow Arubans on the island, but he’s doing this to help them while keeping visitors (like me) connected to your beautiful island that we love and miss. I just wanted you to know how we feel. Danki.”

We thank Bryan for sharing this with us and also for supporting a good cause. Are you searching for things to do while staying safe at home and maybe also help the people of Aruba awhile you are at it? Then please join the one and only Fred de Jong A.K.A. Aruba Sinatra every Friday at 7:30pm for his weekly Live Facebook Fundraising Show from his Home.
(https://www.facebook.com/ArubaSinatraShows/live). Do you love Aruba as your vacation island and do you want to do something and give back to the Aruban people who have always served you on your trips? Well, this is your chance to help the ones who need it the most during this total shutdown with COVID-19. All proceeds raised will go to food banks and warm meals for vulnerable groups in Aruba as they wait to see us again once the Island reopens. Fred’s goal is to find people who are willing to contribute to the CEDE Foundation. The money will help the vulnerable people in Aruba survive and Aruba Sinatra will continue to bring you beautiful music from the American Songbook. This show is for all ages and admission is free.
