ORANJESTAD/SAN NICOLAS – The biggest party of the year was celebrated last weekend in an outburst of colors and creativity with the two final big parades in San Nicolas and Oranjestad.
The spectacle of luxurious costumes and swinging live music bands is uplifting and you see all ages united in this expression of joy and culture. The sunlight makes the colors of the costumes shine and glitter and Aruba knows how to make an impression. Saturday the streets of San Nicolas were the stage for the 9 different carnival groups to make their grand entrée, Sunday it was Oranjestad’s turn to leave its marks for Carnival 64.
