Three emerging artists have settled in Cosecha, Oranjestad Aruba, for a working period, for the sea and a healing journey. They all work in the autonomous arts in diverse disciplines.
Aydee Derix, raised multimedia artist, playfully researches and explores the absurdities of existence and the world around us, such as: tourism, ecology, and human hypocrisy toward animal care, which she expresses through large-scale paintings and audiovisual installations.
Mirte van den Bos explores the desire and the possibility to become a non-human object like a shell or forest. Her work also expresses the celebration or preservation of life on Earth through poetry, spatial installations, and performances.
Chantal van Lieshout is concerned with the big and tiny elements with which we share our reality such as; insects, seas, knots and beach found treasures that emerge in objects such as wind sculptures, epoxy castings and bondage toys.
We would like to invite you to our studio to view our creations while sipping a refreshing drink (while supplies last) on February 25th, 8PM.
